RECENT THAMES FLOODS.
THAMES, March 30. Tho Hon. W. Fraser iMinister of Public Works) visited 'lhamos thia morning and spent tho day with tho botough and county councillors. The flood dauiago was carefully inspected, and as a result of the damage deno the borough was promised £IQCQ as an iromoediato advance, on the £ for £ principle. It was suggested that tho loan should cover any further damage. Mr Fraser promised that tho Government might make a further grant when it received a report from tho district engineer. The County Council also received promisee, of aid on a £ for £ basis for considerable damages sustained in various parts of tho county. Mr Fraser will Icavo to-morrow morning for Wellington
