At a time when indications point to a small fruit crop in the North Island it is of interest to householders to know that there is a chance of a good yield in the Islands. The prospects for bananas depend entirely upon weather conditions. _lf there are no severe hurricanes or floods it is estimatcd that far more fruit will he offering than the steamers at present in the trade will carry. Already there have been numerous inquiries from New Zealand at Suva for bananas, an evidence that a pood demand is expected in the face of the probable shortage of the local crop here. Cocoanut plantations in Fiji promise a heavy crop this season.
