KAITANGATA EMPLOYEES' BENEFIT SOCIETY.
Tho annual meeting of the above society was held on Saturday, 13th inst., in tho Miisonic I fa!!, tho chairman being Mr Win. Stephenson (president). About '6O members were present Tho balance sheet was presented by ihe chairman, who spoke of the finano.al position as very satisfactory. An item of £8 5s lOd in tho expenditure in the Medical and Management Fund account caused considerable discussion. 'iho president and secretary explained that tho committee had gone to some expense in its endeavour to bring about Jo'al administration of the Miners' Relief Fund. The item included expenses to solicitor and tho secretary's visit to Wellington to interview the Minister. I pon the president assuring the meeting that the whole question would be placed before the hodv of members for approval before the fund was taken over tho controversy ended. 'J lie balance sheet was adopted. Salaries were fixed as follows, the previous year's amounts being given in parentheses :—President, £4 4s £5 ss); secretary, £ls (£20): treasurer, £8 Ss (£10); committeemen. Is each per meeting attended (2s); auditors, £3 (£3, ; mine book, £6 10s (£6 lCs). All the officers were re- 'looted as fohowe:— President Mr W. Stenhenson; secretary. Votes o f thanks were given to the scrutineers (Messrs 1). Garvin and A. J. Kayo), and a. special vote of thanks was tendered to the Kait.angata Company. and the Hospital Board for tho valuable services of Xutses Lukeman and Clements, Ur Brown, and Mr Souness, for free services to the dependents of members at the front, and to members who havo given their services to tho F~,"
