A Balclutha boy. who is at present visiting Kaka Font, must bo something of a Spartan (says the Mataura Ensign). While casting a fishing line on Saturday he suddenly discovered that one of the hooks had vanished. Diligent search failed to loeate the missing steel, until a bystander exclaimed, "Say. sonny, you've got a fishhook in your leg.'' Sure enough, there was the hook, so deeply embedded that a doctor's services had to be requisitioned for ite removal.
