OBITUARY.
On the 14th the death occurred at Orari Gorge, Geraidine, of Mrs C. G. Tripp, in her eighty-third year. Mrs Tripp was the third daughter of the late Bishop Harper, of Christchurch She came to New Zealand with her father and mother and 11 brothers and sisters in 1856. Two years later she married Mr Tripp, who had taken up land at Mount Peel, where she lived till 1865, when they moved to Orari Gorge, which was her home till her death. Her name is intimately connected with the pioneering days in Canterbury. She leaves eight children—Mr Howard Tripp (Timaru), Mr Leonard Tripp (Wellinorton). Mr Bernard Tripp (Timaru), Mr Jack Tripp (Woodbury), Mrs Hope (Timaru), Mrs Stopford (Napier), Miss Ella Tripp, and Mrs Pinckney (Glenaray. Southland), 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 9 brothers and sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces.
