The following ALTERATIONS IN and ADDITIONS TO the Ordinary Train Service will be made in connection with the above: — SPECIAL NIGHT TRAINS. SATURDAYS, 23rd and 30th DECEMBER, DUNEDIN-CHRISTCHURCIL— Train for Christchurch will leave Dunedin at 10.45 p.m., Palmerston 12.46, Oamaru 2.27 a.m., arriving Christchurch 8 15 am. on Sunday. Takes passengers from Dunedin for Oamaru and Stations north thereof only. Stops at Port Chalmers Upper, Waitati, Seacliff, Waikouaiti, Palmerston, Hampden, Herbert, and Maheno to pick up passengers for north of Oamaru; also at any other Station north of Oamaru to allow passengers from south thereof to alight. OHRISTCHURCH-DUNEDIN.-Train for Dunedin will leave Christchurch at 10.35 p.m., Oamaru 3.57 a.m., Palmerston 5.42, arriving Dunedin at 7.55 a.m. on Sunday. Stops at Rolleston and Rakaia to pick up, and at Ashbuiton, Orari, Temuka, limaru, Studholme, Glenavy, Oamaru, Maheno, Herbert, Hampden, Hillgrove, and Palmerston to pick up or set down passengers; also at any other Station south of Oamaru to allow passengers from north thereof to alight. DUNEDIN-OAMARU—Train for Oamaru and Intermediate Stations will leave Dunedin at 11.0 p.m., Palmerston 1.55, arriving Oamaru 4.12 a.m. on Sunday. Will NOT stop between Pelichet Bay and Port Chalmers Upper (inclusive) except to pick up passengers for north of Port Chalmers Upper. DUNEDIN-INVERCARGILL.—Train for Invcrcargill will leave Dunedin at 11.10 p.m., Balclutha. 1.25, Clinton 2.50 a.m., arriving Invcrcargill at 5.40 a.m. on Sunday. Will NOT stop at Stations between Dunedin and Mosgiel (inclusive) except to pick up passengers for south of Mosgiel. South of Mosgiel will stop where required to pick up or set down passengers. INVERCARGILL-DUNEDIN Train for Dunedin will leave Invcrcargill at 11.25 p.m.. Clinton 2.50 a.m., Balclutha 3.40, arriving Dunedin at 6.0 a.m. on Sunday. TUESDAY, 2nd JANUARY. CHRISTCHURCH-DUNEDIN.—Train for Dunedin will leave Christchurch at 9.5 p.m., Oamaru 2.27 a.m., Palmerston 4.12, Dunedin arrive 6.25 a.m. on Wednesday. Stops at Rolleston and Rakaia to pick up, and at Ashburton, Orari. Temuka, Timaru, Studholme, Glenavy, Oamaru, Maheno, Herbert, Hampden, Hillgrove, and Palmerston to pick up or set down passengers; also at any other Station where required between Oamaru and Dunedin to allow passengers from north of Oamaru to alight. DUNEDIN-CHRISTCHURCIL—Train for Christchurch will leave Dunedin at 8.45 p.m. Palmerston 10.49, Oamaru 12.27 a.m., Christchurch arrive 6.15 a.m. on Wednesday. Stops at Port Chalmers Upper to pick up passengers for Oamaru and north thereof; at Waitati, Seacliff, Waikouaiti, Palmerston, Hampden, Herbert, Maheno, Oamaru to pick up or set down passengers; also at any Station where required north of Oamaru to allow passengers from south of Oamaru to aliprht. EXTRA EXPRESS TRAINS. DUNEDIN-CHRISTCHURCH. On 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 30th DECEMBER, and 2nd and 3rd JANUARY, Extra Express Trains (with dining cars) between Christchurch and Dunedin will run as under:— Christchurch depart 9.10 a.m., Oamaru 2.15 p.m., Dunedin arrive 6.0 p.m. Dunedin depart 10.45 a.m., Oamaru 2.25 p.m., Christchurch arrive 7.10 p.m., Lyttclton arrive 7.33 p.m. DUN.I iDIN-BALCLUTHA. On 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 29th, and 30th DECEMBER, and Ist and 2nd JANUARY, Extra Express Trains, connecting with Trains to and from Lawrence and Catlins River Branches, will run as under: Dunedin depart 9.0 a.m., Milton 10.35, Balclutha arrive 11.12 a.m. Balclutha depart 4.10 p.m., Milton 4.50, Dunedin arrive 6.12 p.m. For further particulars of Times at Intermediate Stations and Stops, see Booklets and Posters exhibited at All Stations. FRIDAY, 22nd DECEMBER. DUNEDIN-PALMERSTON —The Goods Train (with car attached) usually leaving Dunedin for Palmerston at 4.35 a.m., will NOT leave until 5.10 a.m. _ DUNEDIN-CLINTON—Holiday Excursion Tickets from Dunedin and Stations 60uth thereof to Balclutha and Intermediate Stations (including Stations on Lawrence and Catlins River Branches) will NOT bo available by Down Mail Train leaving Dunedin at 8.30 a.m. Holiday Excursion Tickets from Balclutha and Stations north thereof (including Stations on Catlins River and Lawrence Branches) to Dunedin and Intermediate Stations will NOT be available up Up Mail Train arriving Dunedin at 6.58 p.m. LAWRENCE BRANCH.—The Train usually leaving Milton for Beaumont at 10.0 a.m. will NOT leave until 10.45 a.m., arriving Beaumont 1.30 p.m. The Train usually leaving Beaumont ofc 1.55 p.m. will leave Lawrence 3.0, Waitahuna 3.30. arriving Milton 4.48 p.m. CATLINS RIVER BRANCH. The Train usually leaving Balclutha for Owaka at 10.40 a.m. will NOT leave until 11.25 a.m., connecting with 9.0 a.m. Express from Dunedin, arriving Owaka 12.45 p.m. SATURDAY, 23rd DECEMBER.
