A telegram from Obogoro (East Africa) states that the German General Wahle attacked a small post at Ngominge in full force. After a hopeless but desperate resistance the British retired, leaving their prisoners. General Wahlc continued with his force and attacked Malingais, where Captain Marriott unexpectedly resisted for four days, after which Colonel Murray's relieving fore© attacked the German flank and forced Wahle back to Lupcmoe. Colonel Murray, being reinforced, pursued forward to Mahonga, killing 61 and taking prisoner 35. After a strong pursuit General Wahlc surrendered with seven white officers, 47 white men, and 240 Askaris. A howitzer and three maxims were also captured ; while the force detached by General Wahle earlier, in the hope of enveloping General Northcy, was rounded up at Itembule.

Captain Marriott was awarded the Military Cross on the field. Since the sth inst. a considerable German force repeatedly attacked the troops holding Port Ribatt, southward of RuGji delta. The enemy were repulsed. Heavy rains are falling in all the fighting zones.
