A very sad accident occurred at vv aingawa on tho 11th, by which a little boy named Henry Ivan Searancke, son of a wellknown settler, lost his life (reports tho Mafttorton Times). It appears that Mr Searancke and his son were crossing the river in a dray with a load of posts, when tho vehicle upset. Tho posts fell on top of the boy and fractured his skull. The unfortunate little fellow, who was three and a-half years old, expired before tho doctor's arrival.
