WAIHEMO COUNTY COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Waihemo County Council was held on Saturday. The Chairman (Cr M'-Lay) presided. The inspector's reports tor the various ridings were approved. The Public Works Department notified that amounts of £c6 2s 6d and £l2 13s 2d had been paid into the bank in connection with £ lor £ subsidy on the Macraes to llydo and Dunback to Macraes grants respectively. —Received. it was resolved that the inspector report at each meeting regarding unregistered motor cars in the county, and also uncertificated drivers. The inspector of Noxious Weeds wrote drawing attention to broom growing en sections in Palmerston owned by the council.—The letter was received, the matter having already been attended to. The dog registration fee was fixed at 7s 6d each for all dogs excepting *hoso owned by farmers, drovers, and shepherds, who are entitled to have three dogs registered upon payment of 2s 6d each. It was resolved to call for tenders for the cutting of cocksfoot, separate tenders to bo submitted for the various ridings, receivable up to January 6. Accounts amounting to £176 16s 2d v ere passed for payment.
