Mails close at the Chief Post Office aa under:—

THIS DAY WEDNESDAY), DEC. 13. For Australian States, Ceylon, India, Egypt, China. Japan, and South Africa, to connect with Moeraki, by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station till 11.14 a.m. For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (correspondence must be specially arldrcssed per direct steamer), by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station till 11.14 a.m. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16. For Australian Slates and South Africa, per Westralia, from Auckland, by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station till 11.14 a.m. English and Expeditionary mails, via Vancouver, are expected by First Express to-morrow (Thursday), 14th inst. The next letter mail for Expeditionary Forces abroad will close at C.P.O. on December 22 at 10 a.m. The next best despatch for United Kingdom will bo by Vancouver mail, closing December 23, and due in London, January 25. The next parcel mail for Expeditionary Forces will bo specially advertised, but parcels may be posted at any time. Money orders for places within the doinion close one hour before advertised time of closing letter mails, Money orders for places beyond the dominion for despatch by the North or South Express close at 4 p.m. the previous day. Registered mails close one hour before advertised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, and newspapers close half an hour before the advertised time of letter mails.
