N.S.W. COAL MINERS.

(By Cable.) WORK RESUMED. The majority of the New South Wales coal miners resumed work on Monday, 4th inst., and it is expected that the balance of the colleries will be working in a few days, their delay in starting being duo to inability to get them in readiness after the recent stoppage. iiut even when they are all going it is improbable that commercial demands can bo filled till towards the middle of January, owing to the big demands for the Commonwealth ships and other essential purposes, stocks for these purposes being greatly depleted. The naval authorities have appointed a Central Committee consisting of representatives of the shipping companies to arrange the allotments of coal for oversea vessels in ovder of precedence after the transnort, GovernmeTit, and inter-State services have been supplied. The council of the Miners' Federation is demanding that a conference with the proprietors shall bo held not later than this week to discuss increased wages. The coal proprietors decided to confer with the men on Friday on the question of increased wages.
