The Hotel and Restaurant Employees' Unions have decided to test tho legality of tho convictions under the Anti-Shouting Regulations. To this end, the Auckland Union is stating a case for a declaratory judgment, and tho Wellington Union is lodging an appeal against a recent Wellington conviction
Tho Timaru Red Cross Society's appeal for the black fleeces from shorn clips is meeting with good rcsponso (says the Post). Tho wool brokers of Timaru have agreed to act as receiving depots, and they already have quite a quantity of black wool on hand which they have agreed to Bell free of commission. It is hoped that the Red Cross funds will benefit to tho extent of perhaps £3OO, and the farmers may rest assured that the money is urgently required. *s.
