BOWLING.

MEETING, OF NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, September 21. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Bowling Association, Co'onel Collins presiding, Mr J. J. Roberts was appointed secretary. It was decided to levy 3d per head on members of clubs, which it was estimated .would bring in about £l3O per annum. The expenditure varies from £125 to £l5O yearly. The council resolved to hold * tournament this year, to consist of rinks, pairs, and singles, the net profits to be devoted to patriotic purposes. The council decided that the next tournament should start on January 8 with the pairs. A motion that a time limit be not introduced was carried, but the executive was given power *k> fiurfcail any game which was unduly prolonged. The Dunedin Centre was given permission to hold a tournament at Easter Applications from South Auckland and Napier wore referred to the respective centres. It was decided to obtain reports from the centres where there were bowl testers as to whether they were satisfactory.
