INCREASED RENTS.
WELLINGTON, July 24. A meeting of city property owners tonight discussed the proposed legislation affecting increased rents during the war. The following resolution was adopted: — " That this meeting strongly object to legislation as contained in the War Legislation Amendment Bill, on the ground that such legislation is inequitable and unjust.'' A Landlord's Association was formed to conserve the interests of property owners, and a deputation was appointed to interview the Prime Minister.
