SOUTH CANTERBURY HUNT CLUB'S MEETING. {From Our Special Reporter.) The South Canterbury Hunt Club held its first totalisator meeting in fine weather, and thero was an excellent attendance. Ihe card provided some interesting sport, and during tho dav £7853 10s went through the totalisator. Easton broke a collarbone when Cannie Hughio fell with him in the Hunters' Hurdles. Results: HACK AND HUNTERS' HURDLES, Of SOsovs. One mile and a-half. s—Mr P. Delargey's b g Trireme, 9.5 (F. Ellis) 1 I—Mr1 —Mr Massey's Kaupokonui, 9.9 (W. Fielding) 2 3—Mr Rutherford's Mescal, 10.3 (Scobie) 3 Also started : 2 Hap Dha 10.5, 4 Steperina 9.12, Don Francisco 9.8, Cannie Hughio 9.2, Martial 9.0, Little Corporal 9.0. Trireme and Cannie Hughio showed tho way past tho stand. Mescal took charge going along the back, and at tho last fence Trireme, Mescal, and Kaupokonui were in close order, and well clear of Hap Dha. In the run home Trireme won comfortably by two lengths from Kaupokonui, who beat Mescal by four lengths, with Hap Dha 15 lengths away. Cannie Hujyhie fell at the second last fence. Time, 2min 56sec. Welhvcod and Rolling Tide drew out from tho others, and the former finally won all out by two lengths, with Tommy 20 lengths off third. Krithia and Busy Bee were next. Parson's Yes, 10.3 (Donovan) 1 I—Mr1 —Mr Trilford's Jack Symons. 9.0 (Humphries) 2 4—Messrs Carleton Bros.' Pronez Garde, 9.5 (J. Kaan) 3 Also started: 2 Aaland 9.8, 5 Humiliation 9.8, 10 Ezra 9.0, 9 Craig Athol 9.0, 11 Overland 9.0, Up Jenkins 9.0, 6 Kohel Mainen 9.0, 12 Counterpoint 9.0, 7 Indian Chief 9.0. Yes led all the way, and won by two lengths from Jack Symons, with Prenez Garde three lengths off, and Aaland and Humiliation next. Time, Imin 17 l-sscc. SOUTH CANTERBURY STEEPLECHASE. Of 140sovs. About two miles and a-half. 2 —Messrs Balfour and Rutherford's lkowai, 10.2 (Roccl) 1 4—Mr Hobbs's Traditor, 9.7 (E. Feilding) 2 3 —Mr Ward's Caseshot. 10.2 (J. Kaan) 3 Also started: 1 Grey Renown 11.2, 5 Golden Grape 11.2. Grey Renown, Caseshot, and Golden Grape" were showing the way over the first circuit, with the others close up. Grey Renown then dropped out. lkowai took charge going along the back, and was showing the way to Golden Grape at the last fence, where the 'atter ran off. Caseshot also missed the same fence. lkowai won by 10 lengths from Traditor, with Caseshot, who went back and got third money. Grey Renown finished next. Time, smm 39 l-ssec. WASHDYKE TROT, 6 Of 50sovs. One mile and a-half. 4_Mr W. Wharton's Quincey Belle, 21sec (T. Logan) 1 3 —Mr Hammond's Bridgewood, 21scc (N. L. Ben Dillon took charge after going half a mile, and led to the turn, where Quincey Belle went past, and won by over three lengths from Bridgewood, who just beat Marvis. Ben Dillon was fourth. Time, 3min 44 l-ss.ee. HUNT CLUB CUP, Of 50sovs, and a cup valued at 20sovs. About three miles.

Also started: 5 Tariki 10.8, 6 Dear Annie 9.10, 3 Sellbrook 9.10, 4 Dardanelles 9.7, 7 Gladys Dew 9.7. Dear Annie and Gladys Dew fell at the first fence, and Sellbrook ran off. Fairy Finn led for two miles, and was then joined by Wellwood and Marson. Wellwood took charge at the last fence, and won by ever half a length from Marson, who beat Fairy Finn by two lengths, with Taraki and Dardanelles 50 yards away. Time, 6min 57sec. HUNTERS' PLATE, of 30sovs. Two miles.
