June 19. —The weather on tho island Tins been variable of late, but on tho 'whole fairly warm. Everything is very quiet in this liHle corner of tho Dominion. Nearly all our young men of military age are away, having answered to tho Empire's call. Union. —Tho fisherman here are forming themselves, into a union and are loolcing forward to receiving it. better price for their fish, once tlie union is properly organised. Although fish is dear on the mainland, this is not due to the price paid to those who catch Ihem. At the present time everything seems to be up in price except fi'sh, which i-i our startle product. General. —A. branch of the Rod Oo?r. Socii'ty has been formed hero lately.-—Two or three families have arrived on the lslarid of late, and it is -understood intend to live here perm inenf Iy.
