Y.M.C.A. WORK.
At the meeting of the National Committee of the Young Men's Christian Association, held last week in response to a request from the British National Council, it was resolved to appoint six additional field secretaries for work among the New Zealand troops in Egypt and in France. Among those selected for this work were Mr Thomson Mackio, of Knox Church, and Mr S. J. Gilbert, of Dunedin. Mr Gilbert is the sixth member of the local Young Men's Christian Association who has been selected for this special service. He left on Wednesday morning for Wellington, where he win spend some little time in further training in one of the North Island training camps before proceeding to the front.
