The devout in all lands have their own particular way of giving outward demonstration to their pjety. In Russia ifc frequently takes the form of wearing miniature Bibles as charms on the watchchain. They are got. up in attractive form about lin square and |in in thickness, and contain the firs'; five Books of the Old Testament. The text of the Bock is in Hebrew and the titles in Lat'n. It is truo that the Book could not bo read without the aid of a powerful magnifying glass, but that does not trouble the Russian '"unco' paid'*; ho places great reliance on the fact that ho curries the "Word" on his person.
