THE SAILORS' DEPENDENTS' RELIEF FUND. The Otago Daily Times closed on Saturday, 24th inst., tho list it had opened for subscriptions for the Sailors' Dependents' Relief Fund, notifying that further subscriptions should be sent to bo added to tho Navy League's list. The response to our contemporary's appeal was highly gratifying, tho total reaching £6150 15s Bd. The following is a summary of tho daily

NAVY LEAGUE IJST. Total to date £4727 5 4 The response to the appeals of the local branches of tho Navy League at Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch has also been satisfactory, and with the funds raised in smaller centres the amount should be over £50.000. At tho annual meeting of the North Otago Trotting Club, held last week, it was agreed unanimously to donate £IOO to the funds, for the relief of tho dependents of the naval heroes. Mich donation to bo contributed through the Navy League. This amount makes a. total of £475 donated by the club out of its funds to date.
