—An entirely now type of gun, which army officers believe may revolutionise artillery warfare, will bo given a second trial at Fort Hancock soon, following two remarkable demonstrations of its power at Fort Hamilton and Sandy Hook. The now weapon, in the perfection of which a woman, Mrs Kat-herino M. Stanton, of Whitest-one, L. 1., aided, operates upon the fundamental principle of centrifugal force, without powder, therefore being both noiseless and smokeless. Although it can bo packed in a 3ft box. and eaa be operated from any sort of base, from an automobile to a Dreadnought, it will throw projectiles of different sizes six to seven miles,_ according to officer* who saw the first trials. The gun can be manufactured at one-tenth the cost of big gun* using powder, and its operation is said to be so simple that trained men are not needed to work it.
