A rumour has been current IntcJy that there wire about ICO cases of scarlet fever at Sydenham School (says the. Chrstr'hurch Evening News). The head master (.Mr William Bean), when spoken to about the matter, .stated that there were nearly 100 cases of various illnesses, including whooping cough, but there were not more than 12 eases of scarlet fever, and several suspects which were isolated.
