SYDNEY, May 12 Charles Scoring, a New Zealander, who had recently arrived, was charged with attempting to shoot a police sergeant. Evidence was given that the police re ceived information that two Chinamen's huts had been burgled and £2O stolen. The police proceeded to La Perouse, where they met accused cycling. When he was stopped lie produced a revolver and aimed point blank at the officer. Fortunately the chamber contained a blank cartridge, though the others were fully loaded. The accused was remanded.
