CHARGE OF MURDER
SYDNEY, October 23,
Last mouth the body of a fisherman named William Parcell was found in a Campden Haven River rapid, tied to an anchor. Indications pointed to ill-treat-ment, and deceased’s mate, James Piper, has been committed for trial on a charge of murder. The evidence showed that at the end of August neighbours heard quarrelling in Piper’s shed, and Parcell was not again seen. Piper’s explanation to the neighbours was that Parcell had loft the district.
