The attendance was larger than on the opening day, but the excursion trains from Dunedin and Christchurch did not receive a great deal of patronage. Specialform won the principal event, going away from the field at the finish, and the Cup candidates finishing behind would, on the race, appear to have a very remote chance with her at Riccarton, 800 also put up an impressive performance, as she received a bad run in the early stages, and after running round the others into the straight, came away to win rather easily. During the day £12,867 went through the totalisator, making £24,002 on the meeting, or £316 less than last year. The profits of the meeting will go to the Patriotic Funds.
