Queries must be received by SATURDAY night to ensure reply In the succeeding issue.] Stallion. —Abortion In 'Mares; _ Various causes may produce this accident in mares, such as blows, strains, or any violent excitement, and it is said that to allow a mare to sea and smell food to which she has been accustomed to and of which she is fond, without allowing.her to eat of it, may cause slinking. However, when once this tendency is established it is difficult to counteract. It is better to breed from a mare you can depend on for producing strong and healthy foals without giving any trouble to her owner.
