TWO ENEMY MONITORS SUNK.
PARIS, October 12. Le Matin’s Nish correspondent states that the Serbians on Sunday morning regained the advantage, seized some excellent positions, and threw back the Germans into the suburbs of Belgrade. The Germans threw 60,000 shells into the town, not sparing the hospitals and churches. They destroyed the synagogue, burying hundreds of Jewish families who were taking refuge in the vaults. The British heavy guns indicted severe losses on the enemy, and sank two monitors on the river. Fighting continues in the hills about Belgrade. The French artillery is co-operating with the Serbian and British artillery.
