CLUTHA HORSE PARADE
The Clutlia and Matau A. and P. Society held its annual horse parade at Balelutha on Saturday, 9th inst„ and despite the extremely wet weather there was a good attendance of farmers and breeders. ENTIRE HORSE, Pour years and upwards. Bouquhan Kennedy (imp.); sire Apukwa, dam Beatrice by Baron's Pride (owners. Glut ha Clydesdale Horse Club) 1 Lee Creek Bonus, by Baron’s Bold; dam Grace, by Captain Alexander (owner, Mr J. 11. Patrick, Pukepito) 2 Major Stewart, by Captain Stewart; dam Lady Cranbournc, by Lord Cranbourne (owner, Mr 11. Lochhcad, Balelutha) 3 Sir Hallum, by Baron’s Bold; dam Grace, by Captain Alexander (owner, Mr J. Pv. Patrick, Pukepito) 4 Also competed: Orphan Boy (Mr W. Charters, Mosgiel), Ihe Captain (Mr W. B. Herbert, Popotunoa), Captain Bancor (Mr John Kendall, To Houka), Koval Review (Mr John Kendall, To Houka). General Stewart (Mr R. Robson, Lovell’s Flat), Prince Daniel (Mr Gecrge Tosh, Bilclutha). The judge (Mr Fleming) remarked that the first four horses were a fairly even lot. While Bouquhan Kennedy was of a distinct stamp, which helped him considerably, the judge was highly impressed with the second horse’s loot, which ho described as splendid. r J ho unsuccessful horses were creditable animals.
