OTAGO WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION.
With the large number of workers at the Early Settlers’ Hall the pile of completed waistcoats is fast increasing, and the association has now some bop© of despatching the required number in due course. It still needs help, however, in the cutting-out of waistcoats, and members would be grateful for the loan of sewing machines for one week. An ordinary household machine is all that is necessary for stitching the leather. Waistcoat making proceeds steadily at tho Early Settlers’ Hall, and thanks to the many bands of willing helpers, tho number between us and our desired quota of 5000 diminishes daily. Preparations have been made for waterproofing the garments, a very necessary process in view of Gallipoli’s winter climate. Tho association would be glad to have all waistcoats being made out returned by Thursday; if this is impossible, would workers please advise as to the number they may have in hand, and when these will be ready.
