GERMAN ATTACKS REPULSED.
PETROGRAD, August 10. Official: North=east of Wilcomierz we dislodged German advance guards from several villages, inflicting great loss. During the night of August 7=B the enemy renewed their attacks on Kovno. There was an intense bombardment on the Bth, with artillery of all calibres, including the heaviest. Extremely desperate attacks were made on fur advanced position, but the assault against the western front of Kovno was everywhere repulsed with enor= raous German losses.
