NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. WELLINGTON. December 6. For the New Zealand chess championship tourney, which will begin in Christchurch on the 23th instant, six nominations have already been received, and it is expected that half a dozen more at least will be in before closing day. Those nominated are: E. 11. Severn© (Canterbury), 0. C. Pleasants (Wanganui), G F Dodds (Nelson). W. Moore (Maetorton), W. C. Hill and 11. A. Mackenzie (Wellington). It is not yet certain if the Revs. C. E. Fox anS B. G. Fox will arrive from Norfolk Island in time to take part.
