A Timaru motor cyclist had a rather unpleasant experience while cycling down Stafford Street South. Opposite the Club Hotel the corner of the petrol tank worked loose, and (ho petrol spurted out and caught fire on the soarking plug. The cyclist endeavoured to extinguish the flames, but his overcoat and scarf caught fire, and one of his hands was badlv scorched. The tyres were burned, and the machine was badly damaged-
