SUPREME COURT SITTINGS.
WELLINGTON, July 11. In the Supreme Court this morning Daniel Patrick Cummins was sentenced to 18 months’ reformatory treatment for theft. Poland Nelson, 19 years of age, for the thdft of a postal packet, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, on the understanding that the Prisoners’ Aid Society sent him away to Canada, his native country. Jack James Hyarns was convicted of forgery and uttering. Mr Wilford stated that he had married when he was receiving only £7O a year, and he was paying 25s per week rent. He was also ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
