LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTION.

JULY CELEBRATION. The members of Dunedin Orange Lodges, and the friends of the United Ireland Lodge assembled in such force at the Art Gallery on the 13th that the seating capacity of the fine hall was taxed to its utmost. The gathering was presided over by R.W.G.M. Bro. H. BrtiSe, supported to the right and to the left by Bros. J. M'Farlane (Grand Treasurer), D.G.M. A. Greig, and P.G.M. Garrick. "The platform was prettily draped, the chairman’s table standing out conspicuously with a banner bearing in bold orange-coloured letters the inscription “No surrender! ” The Chairman gave an introductory address.

Bro. Grieg moved —“That we, the members of the Loyal Orange Institution of Dunedin assembled, do proclaim our continued allegiance to his Majesty King George and the laws and Constitution of Great Britain and its dependencies, and demonstrate our approval by resolution, of the firm stand taken by oiir bi’ethren in Ulster in standing shoulder to shoulder as one man, to maintain the glorious principles of civil and religious liberty; and wo pray that they will be successful in resisting every encroachment on their rights and liberty, as men knowing that they will stand by the grand refrain, ‘No surrender.’” Bro. Garrick seconded the motion, which was carried with hearty applause. ■

ally -well arranged, and -was contributed to by many of the most popular Amateur musicians and elocutionists.
