A meeting of the executive of the CatlmsTahakopa Railway League was held on Thursday afternoon, and was attended by Messrs G. Fenwick (in the chair), Wilson, Taylor, W. B. M F< a, D. M. Fea, Edraond, Bru«ii', iiid Waters (secretary). Mr Waters mentioned that the Public Works Estimates had been received and that it was usual to acknowledge them. The number of men at present working on this line was very small, but he had no fresh report to submit. It was agreed to adopt the usual course by gratefully acknowledging the sum placed upon the Estimates for the prosecution of the line. It was also decided to write to headquarters expressing disappointment that so small a, number of men were engaged on the line, seeing that the branch wae extending rapidly, and that the most favourable season for pushing on the work rapidly had come. It was further resolved that, in connection with the sending away of stock from the district, it be pointed out to the Government that it was advisable to have loading banks for stock at. Stoddart'e. It was decided that the next meeting of the league be held in February.
