Lake. —Pig with rheumatism; You might give the pig a tablcspoonful of cod liver oil twice a day, keep it in a warm stye, and give it cooked food. A liniment of turpentine and olive oil may bo applied fo the affected parts, especially along the spine, and allow it a comfortable bod. Farmer writes:—“l have a colt which filled on the inside of the hock. He was kicked some time ago. Would that cause it? I have been putting it down as a blood or bog spavin. What fa the best treatment?” Answer: This may not be bog spavin at all, and, as the colt gets older, it may probably disappear altogether, You should commence handling the youngster, and when ho is quiet enough well hand rub the swelling night and morning, and in addition a little camphor or soap liniment can bo applied. Vet wants to know if a colt with one testicle showing can bo classed as a “rig”?——Answer; Yes; it is the usual practice if he Is one year old to leave off the operation of castration until the next spring, when the second testicle might come down. Then he would not bo a “rig,” but could be insured and operated upon in the ordinary way.
