GTeom Ouh Own Cobbespondent.) GREYMOUTH, September 1. The Kokatahi, Arahura, Hahihari, and ICumara butter and cheese factories wdl commence operations about the first of next month. It is expected that the new W a taro a and Waitaha factories will also bo ready to start this season. It is estimated that the factories will pay out to tliio suppliers about £35,000 this season. Trout are reported to bo very plentiful in the Hokitika River at present. Though there aro no reports of any anglers having been successful in the vicinity of the whitebait catchers’ trenches below the railway bridge, the trout ore to bo seen daily in
large numbcm as they chase the whitebait and herrings. Some of the fish are of a very substantial size.
