The Orontes’ passengers include Mr Walker, managing-director of the Papuan In -trial Company, Limited. He says that the company is an enterprise composed of Christian business men, whose object is to benefit and uplift the natives. The whole of the profits, after the payment of a maximum dividend of 5 per cent, on the capital subscribed, will be applied to educational, charitable, and missionary work. During his visit to England he secured £12,500 of the capital, which is sufficient to meet their immediate needs.
