The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and P Society, hold on the 2lst, was attended by Messrs J. W. Blair (president, in the chair), W. Patrick, W. •Soutcr, G. 11. Gilroy, J. Angus, T. Ritchie, J. Ross, A. Johnson, F. Freeman, J. Gow, D. Andrew, W. J. Charters. J. Elliot. JMacandrew, R. A. S. Cantrell, W. M. Wilson. E. F. Duthie. T. Scott, J. A. Roberts. A. S. Orbe'.l, E. Bowler, and A. Todd. James Hazlett, one of our governors, and ts appreciation of the valuable services rendered by him in many directions during lis term of office, and that a copy of the ninute be forwarded to Mrs Hazlett and family expressing sympathy with them in their recent bereavement.” A letter was received from the town clerk in reply to the deputation which recently waited on the City Council’s Tramways Committee ;egarding the charges on Tahuna Park branch lino for haulage of stock, etc. for the Summer Show.—After discussion the matter was referred to the sub-committee previously set up to confer with the City Council. The Secretary of the New Zealand llol-tsein-Friesan Association wrote recommending judges for the Summer Show.—The letter was approved, and referred to the executive. The Secretary of the Clydesdale Horse Society wrote bringing under the notice of the committee the scheme adopted for affiliating other horse breeding societies with his association, and submitted terms and conditions, etc. —It was resolved that this society affiliate with the Clydesdale Horse Society. The schedule of classes and prizes for the forthcoming Summer Show was revised, and additional classes were added with a view to popularising this fixture. A number of trophies have been promised in addition to the prize money offered in the various classes, which should have the effect of inducing large entries. In connection with the Fields Competitions, the classes were revised, and it was decided to add classes for school gardens, to he judged along with the Fields Competitions. Full particulars of these classes, for which liberal prizes will be offered, will be advertised shortly. The Grounds Committee reported that excellent progress was being made with the additions to the stall accommodation at Tahuna Park, and mentioned that exhibitors at this year's Summer Show would doubtless much appreciate the meat improvements that have been made at Tahuna Park. A considerable amount of detail business was dealt with. Accounts amounting to £145 18s Id wore passed for payment. Mr R. L. Smith, of Becks, Central Otago, was elected a member of the society.
