THE RIBY DISPERSAL SALF.
At the dispersal sale of the Rihy Shorthorn Stud, belonging to the estate! of the late Mr Henry Duckling, 42 cows ahd heifers realised £1942 10r,. 17 bid's £6OO 13s. and the total average was £44 12s 8d per head.
The highest-price cow was Duchess Broadhooks VI, a roan, which realised 160 guineas. A roan bull —Statesman —was sold for 210 guineas. Prices for Lincolns at the same sale were very satisfactory. The Royal Show champion ram was secured for the Argentine by Mr M. de Hoz at 600 guineas. The New Zealand and Australian Land Company secured the second single ram at the Royal for 250 guineas. Most of the best sheep were bought for the Argentine, The averages were:—l39 yearling rams, £47 16s 2d ; 29 stud rams, £29 10s 7d ; 21 show yearling ewes, £9 11s 6d. Flock owes sold cheaply. The grand total for the flock wae £15,236 15s 3d or 1986 head, an average of £7 13s 5d per head.
