THE MISSING LAUNCH.
AUCKLAND, August li>. The fears for the safety of the lanm-T reported as missing from Coromandel art practically confirmed, as the wreckage which came ashore has been recognised by a nephew of the man Peddle as being part of the missing vessel. When the launch left Whangapona Harbour there was a strong easterly wind blowing. Mr S. W. Peddle is well-known in the Hawke’s Bay district, where he was engaged for many years in sheep-farming and saw-milling. He is a bachelor, with two brothers and three sisters. His companion, William Brown, is a married man with a wife and two children in Glasgow, Scotland.
