LIQUOR AND NO LICENSE.
PA RLI AM EXT AR Y RETURN. A return of liquor sent into no-liconso districts during the year ending December 31, 1912, was laid on the table of the House on the 19th (says the Now Zealand Times), the return having been obtained on the motion of Mr L. M. Isitt, M.P. It gave the following totals (fractions omitted): — Boor and stout, 279,302 gallons; brandy, 1621; cider, 127; gin and schnapps, 2199; rum, 517; whisky, 47,834; wine, 5593; miscellaneous, 184. The totals sent into each district were as follow:—Ashburton, 18,246 gallons; Bruce, 20,953; Clutha, 19.557; Eden. 15,953; Grey Lynn, 5409; Invercargill. 95,967; Kawhia, 25,574 ; Masterton, 23,843 ; Mataura. 45,468 ; Oamaru, 27,757; Ohincmuri, 20,489; Wellington South. 9346: 'Wellington suburbsaml country, 8814 ; —total, 337,380 gallons. The total number of convictions for drunkenness in each no-license district was as follows: —Ohincmuri, 40; Masterton, 65; Ashburton, 80; Oamaru, 75; Bruce, 12; Clutha, 14; Mataura, 22; Invercargill, 113; —grand total, 422. The number of persons taken into custody, summoned, or apprehended, was ts follows: —Ohincmuri, 491; Masterton, 353; Ashburton. 483; Oamaru, 383; Bruce, 154; Clutha, 131; Mataura, 202; Invercargill 832;-—total, 3029.
