During the last few weeks (says the Gisborne Times) several crops of mushrooms have been in evidence on Repongurere Station. For this time of the year a mushroom is rare, and their appearai co -can only bo accounted for by the mild weather we have experienced of late. The largest of the fungi was fully six inches in diameter. It is not often that men with largo sums of money in their possession aro found in a state of drunkenness in Tirnaru (says the Herald). It does happen occasionally however. In the Magistrate’s Court on the 16th inst. a first offender was fined ss, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. When arrested accused had the sum of £lOl Os 9d in his possession.
