HASTINGS, August 25. The inquiry into a fire which destroyed a four-roomed cottage in Treacle lane at Hastings, on the 11th inst., was concluded to-day. Mr S. E. M‘Carthy, coroner, found that the furniture and effects in the house belonged mostly to Patrick M'Namara, who had insured them in hie own name for a sum much beyond their value, and that Mrs Wells, a eub-le&sec of the premises, at the request of M'Namara, had insured the same furniture and effects in her name for £3O. The coroner recommended that the actions of M'Namara with reference to the dwelling and contents should be further inquired into.
