WEST COAST. A death from pellagra, a new disease reported at the Medical Congress in London, has occurred at Westport. The Government, it is reported, intends to introduce an amendment to the Westport Harbour Board Act to authorise the board to expend £3OOO a year in railway surveys. POVERTY BAY. In reference to the reported liquidation of the New Zealand Oilfields, Limited, an agent for the official receiver of the company has been appointed at Gisborne, with instruction to close the local office, but not to sell any of the plant and machinery, as the arrangement is only temporary. Mr Williams (manager for the company) left for England on Sunday.
