SHOOTING AFFRAY
MELBOURNE, August 18.
The trial has commenced of William Parker, surveyor, who is charged with wounding James Thomas Knox, acting town clerk at Footscray, with intent to murder him.
Counsel for the defence pleaded temporary insanity. He stated that Parker’s brother, when 23 years of age, went to an asylum, where he had remained ever since, Parker was greatly worried that day. The case is unfinished.
