FAXMILL WORKERS.

-QUESTION OF ACCOMMODATION WELLINGTON, August 13

Representatives of tho Manawatu Flaxmillers’ Association waited on the Prime .Minister and the Hon. R. H. Rhodes today for the purpose of rebutting the charges made by a deputation from the workers a few days ago as to the lack of, proper accommodation. The deputation urged that the employers had provided accommodation to a most reasonable extent; that some men failed to observe decency in the use of the facilities provided; and that differences between tho emploj’crs and employees wore fostered by paid agitators. Mr Massey said ho had already given instructions for an inspector to give the whole of his time to tho Manawatu district. Tho inspector would be perfectly independent, and his business would bo to see that tho regulations were complied with.
