TWO MEN MISSING.
AUCKLAND, August 18
Two men, named S. W. P. Peddle (sheep farmer) and Wm. Brown (engineer), left the harbour at Whangapoua, Coromandel Peninsula, in a motor launch on luesday, making for Kuaotunu, about 10 miles distant. Nothing further has been heard of them since, ihe weather in the interim has been very unsettled. Peddle had been heard to say that he intended to make a trip to Hawke’s Bay in the launch, and it is considered possible that he has started on the long trio and has been driven to shelter in some bay. It has been reported to Whangapoua that the fragments of a motor launch have been picked up on the beach between Whangapoua and Kuaotunu.
