NAVY LEAGUE.

'OTAGO BRANCH. The meeting of the executive of the above, hoid on Friday afternoon at the Education Board Office, was attended by Messrs J. A. Johnstone (in the chair), F. Goyen, \V. J. Morrell, J. W. Smith, W. A. Moore, G. B. Bullock, F. O. Bridgeman, and G. R. Ritchie. The Secretary reported that the number of adult members who accepted the executive’s invitation to visit H.M.S. New Zcaland- vras 136, and of secondary school members 197. Over 2600 souvenir battleship cards were sent to school members. Upwards of 2200 quarterly school supplements for April were sent out. Owing to the increase in school membership, another 503 have been ordered. The Balclutha District High School has formed a school branch with a membership of 40. Lantern lectures have been resumed and, so far, delivered

in connection with Moray Place, Kensington, Wakari. Anderson’s Bay, George Street, St. Clair, St. Hilda’s, Forbury, Otago Girls’ High, Braemur House, and St. Andrew’s Collegiate, Maori Hill, and Caversham Schools. The secretary, on the invitation of the rector, visited and addressed the Waitaki Boys’ High Shcool. Since the close of the financial year (March 31), 32 members, 16 associates, three lady members, and one lady associate have joined the branch. As members continue to drop j out through death and removal the secretary will be glad to hear of possible new • subscribers.
