SUSPECTED MURDER
MELBOURNE, August 11
The body of an old man named Richard Knight was found near a hut in which he lived alone near Melbourne. The head was almost blown off with a gunshot wound. It is suspected- that Knight was murdered and robbery the motive.
A gun has been found in some scrub near Knight’s body. The deceased possessed a considerable sum of money, which is not believed to be in the bank. He kept it in his house until recentlj’, but he was robbed and he then declared that lie intended to carry his money in his pockets. No money was found on the body or in Knight’s hut.
