SYDNEY HORSE SALES.

SYDNEY, August 5. At tho horse sales the top price realised was 450 gs, for the. Now Zealand-bred OraigwilJie, aged 30 months. Clydesdales slumped owing to heavy supplies, and excellent colts were sold for 60gs and 70gs. Laird of Craigieburn, a live-year-old, and the winner of the 100 guinea premium, who was imported from New Zealand, was bought for 375 gs by Mr W. H. Tubman, of Belfast (Canterbury). Five horses were sold on account oj Messrs Mitchell and O’Brien (Oamaru) at from 60gs to two on account of Mr M'Naugnton (New Zealand) at 50gs and 53gs, three on account of Messrs Freeman Bros (Waimato) at from 60gs to 105 gs. two on account of Mr D. J. Mitchell (New r Zealand) at from 60gs to 107 gs, three on account of Mr Jas. E. Small (Tinwald) from 56gs to 97igs, and one on account of Mr W. H. Tubman at 55gs. August 6. The horse sales were continued to-day, and the demand for draught marcs was good. The follovring sales were effected: —On account of Mr James Grant (Halra), seven mares at from 34gs to 62ige; on account of Mr George Oormack (New Zealand), two at 39gs and 44gs; on account of Messrs Mitchell and'O’Brien (Oamaru), two at 57gs and 65gs; on account Mr P. M‘Naughton (Patea), three at from 35gs to 61gs; on account of Messrs Freeman Bros. (Waimatej, one at 56gs The following sales were also made. —On account of Mr D. M‘Cambridge (Ashburton), two marcs at 48gs and 72i?s. August 7. Mr Tubman, of New Zealand, purchased the mares Kitty (43gs) and Topsy (51gs). Mr Joseph Douthwaito’s stallion Brookdalo Tom sold for 71gs. The thoroughbred Cymbiform, who was bred in- New Zealand, was sold on account of Messrs Freeman Bros. (Waimate), for 100 guineas, and the trotting stallion Ghoai was sold on account of Mr Francis Quin (Waikato), for 100 guineas.
